 Parsi Style Fish Patia Recipe with Tilapia

Here is my Super Special Sunday Parsi Recipe for Khattu-Meethu Macchi no Patio. I usually use Prawns but for this Recipe I have used the freshest of fresh Tilapia fillets from @jalongi_freshnessonline an app that delivers the widest range of fresh fish and meats to your doorstep. Now for the  Delicious Tilapia Patio recipe 



500 Grams Tilapia -

Marinate the Tilapia fish with  a pinch of red chill powder, turmeric powder, lemon juice and salt. Keep it aside for 30 to 40 minutes. 


For The Tomato Patio:

3 large Onions - Finely chopped.

3 Large Tomatoes - Chopped small or pureed in Grinder.

1 Tsp chopped Garlic.

2 Green Chillies Finely Chopped 

4 Tbsp  Oil.

1/2  Tsp Turmeric Powder.

1/2 Tsp Red Chili Powder.

1 Teaspoon Parsi Sambhar Masala.

3 Tablespoons Tomato Puree.

Salt.

2 Tbsp White Vinegar.

1/2 Tbsp Jaggery Powder.

 Fresh Coriander leaves.


Parsi Style Fish Patia Recipe with Tilapia


Method:

1. Heat oil, add onions, cook until they turn medium brown, then tip in green chilies, garlic, saute for a few minutes.

2. Now add tomatoes and the puree, dry spices and cook until the masala comes together and you see oil. 

3. Add the Fish ( I pan seared my tilapia on both sides and then added ) Mix lightly so the fish doesnt break. Add salt  taste and adjust.

3. Cook for another 3-4 minutes until gravy thickens.

4. Last add the vinegar along with jaggery to get a 'Khattu-Meethu' flavours

 5. Garnish with chopped Corriander leaves and serve it hot with Dhan Daar and Chhummber.. (Tur Dal and Jeera Rice) 

Enjoy it with all your fingers and dont forget to smack your lips.

Easy Makhana Kheer Recipe

Makhana Kheer (Makhane ki Kheer) is a creamy Indian Dessert made using fox nuts, milk, dry fruits and sugar(I substituted it for honey).

This kheer is creamy, delicious and nutritious, and doesn’t take much time to prepare. It is light yet very indulgent. It makes delicious sweetdish which can be served on any occasion or for vrat or fasting.

MAKHANA KHEER



The makhanas roasted in ghee and simmered in milk, sweetened  with honey and garnished with nuts and some saffron, it is perfectly balanced and a guilt free dessert option.
Detailed ingredients and recipe below

INGREDIENTS


2 tablespoons ghee
1 large bowl makhana (foxnuts)
1 litre whole milk
15-20 strands saffron
2 tablespoons slivered almonds
2 tablespoons slivered cashew nuts
2 tablespoons raisins
1/4 cup Honey


Makhana Kheer


METHOD


1. Take one tbsp ghee, melt it in a pan and lightly roast the Makhanas on low flame for 4 to 6 minutes. The makhana should crack between your fingers when checked.

2. Now take half the quantity of makhana and dry grind it in the mixer to make a coarse powder.

3. In the same pan add another tbsp ghee and roast the nuts and raisins for two minutes till brown and aromatic.

4. Boil one litre milk in a pan, now add the saffron and boil on low flame for 5 to 8 minutes.

5. Add the makhana powder and rest of makhana nuts and boil further till it thickens

6. At the end add honey when about to switch off the gas and garnish with roasted nuts and raisins

7. Serve it hot or cold and relish this Makhana kheer.

 Easy Stir Fry Chicken Chilli Sausages

 

Recently my husband was in the mood for something Spicy and Chatpata for dinner, in a jiffy I quickly checked out the ingredients at home and decided to make a Spicy Stir Fry Chicken Chilli Sausage with veggies dish. The dish turned out really yummy. The best part of got ready in just 15 minutes. Do check out the easy recipe below.  This recipe is in collaboration with Godrej Group and the FBAI.




Ingredients

1 packet of Godrej Chicken Chilli Sausages
1 sliced capsicum
1/2 cup broccoli florets
1 cup shredded cabbage
1 bunch of chopped spring onions
3 tbsp of cooking oil
1 tsp soya sauce
1 tbsp Schezwan sauce
Salt and pepper to taste 

 

Method 

1. In a wok or deep dish heat the oil. Now add the chopped vegetables and stir for two minutes. 

2.Roughly chop the Sausages in one inch cubes. Now add them to the veggies and lightly stir fry. 

 3. Lower the cooking flame and add the sauces and pepper. I did not add salt as soya sauce contains salt. 

4.Cover the lid and simmer on low flame for another two minutes, stirring it occasionally.
Serve the dish piping hot, garnish with spring onion greens. 

 

Variation

You can add the Vegetables of your choice. Eg - carrot, bell peppers etc
Also if you wish to make it sweet and sour add one tbsp of  tomato ketchup at the second stage with other sauces.

Winter Special Sesame and Peanut laddoo

 The yummy little balls of crushed peanuts and Jaggery, infused with the richness of Ghee and the heavenly taste of spiced ginger. 

Just pop one in your mouth when you’re feeling the need for some warmth and sugar, and smile as you go about savoring this delicious Winter Low Cal Laddoo.

Ingredients 

•1 cup  crushed Peanut

•1 cup Sesame Seeds

•1 cup Jaggery 

•1 tbsp Ghee

•1 tsp Ginger Powder 


Instructions


1. First roast the crushed peanuts  in a pan for few minutes.  Make sure that it's on low heat, then set aside and let it cool.


2. In the same pan add the sesame seeds and roast until they start to pop. 


3. After it cools Down, powder the sesame seeds coarsely and transfer to the mixing bowl.


4. Coarsely crush the peanuts too and add this to the sesame seed mixture.  


5. Now add ginger powder,  jaggery and ghee. 


6. Mix well and now shape into laddoos. 


7. The laddoos can be stored in an air tight jar upto 15 days.  


Note


You can also add black sesame seeds to this laddoo of you wish. 

I have used less ghee in this recipe. If needed add according to your requirements it gets easier to bind together.
